Teammates and friends, I am humbled and fully aware that I am standing on the shoulders of giants as I accept the role of Chief Executive Officer at the SEAL Future Foundation. This organization and the great team are a blessing to me and the countless other warriors they serve. The SFF remains fully committed to our mission: To provide Navy SEALs a foundation that supports their well-being, education and career to continue a life of service within their communities.
We partner with our warrior brothers during their transition and become their lifetime partner as they navigate the civilian world. We have built trust within our warrior community, and with this trust comes great responsibility to provide best-in-class services. We strive to improve the lives of the men we serve, and we have great aspirations to organize the support network and parallel organizations to ensure that the SEALs we serve are fully, and holistically supported.
One of my favorite leaders while I served was my first CO at SEAL Team FOUR. From him, I learned several important lessons early in my career and I was truly fortunate to experience his leadership. He taught; 1) that taking care of people was the most important thing a leader must do, 2) team alignment was critical to success, and 3) humility is an essential part of wisdom. When he spoke at the multitude of Memorial Services, he always opened with, “It’s humbling to be in the presence of Warriors.” I know his sentiment and feel the same with this new role at the SEAL Future Foundation. I am humbled to have the opportunity to continue to serve this great community. We will continue to work with other amazing organizations, and ensure we have a community, a career pipeline, wellness support and educational opportunities for our transitioning warriors. My passion for the men in the NSW community is immeasurable, and I am humbled to follow in the footsteps of a superstar, my dear friend, Jonathan Wilson.
