From the Field to the Farm: Cultivating Purpose After Service

Learning, growing, and reconnecting—these were the core themes behind SEAL Future Foundation’s recent two-day immersion at Polyface Farm. This transformational experience brought together a group of former SEALs to explore regenerative agriculture while fostering personal growth and preparing for purpose-driven transitions beyond military service. From hands-on learning with livestock systems to gaining insight into composting, land development, and small-scale business practices, the weekend was packed with meaningful takeaways that went far beyond farming.

Participants dove into the practical applications of silviculture, succession planning, and self-sufficiency while engaging in powerful conversations about life after the Teams.

The experience wasn’t just informative—it was deeply personal. “This wasn’t just about farming—it was about redefining what success looks like after service,” one attendee shared. At SFF, we believe the mission continues in new forms, and this event exemplified the power of community, continued learning, and a renewed sense of purpose. The outcome? New skills, new careers, and a stronger path forward.
